We refer to our announcement dated 16 January 2006 relating to the above proceeding wherein the individual directors of MCAT Gen Sdn Bhd ("Plaintiffs") instituted a libel claim seeking general damages in the sum of RM1.01 billion against our wholly owned subsidiary, Celcom.

We wish to announce that the Senior Assistant Registrar of the Kuala Lumpur High Court has allowed with costs Celcom's application to strike out the Plaintiffs' claim on the basis that the suit discloses no cause of action, is frivolous, vexatious and an abuse of process of the Court.

We also wish to announce that the Plaintiffs' solicitors have today filed and served on Celcom's solicitors an unsealed notice of appeal to the Judge in Chambers against the striking out order handed down by the said Senior Assistant Registrar earlier today.

No hearing date has been fixed as yet for the said appeal. Telekom Malaysia Berhad will make further announcement in respect of any material development in this matter.
