Axiata Group Berhad (“Axiata”) wishes to announce that pursuant to an application for deregistration by Hello Axiata Company Limited (“HACL”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Axiata with the Ministry of Commerce (“MOC”), HACL has been deregistered with effect from 29 January 2020 following the notification issued by MOC. The notification of deregistration of HACL was received by Smart Axiata Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Axiata held through Axiata Cambodia (Holdings) Limited on 7 February 2020. 

The deregistration of HACL will not have any material effect on the earnings or net assets of the Axiata Group for the financial year ending 31 December 2020. None of the Directors or major shareholders of Axiata or persons connected with them has any interest, direct or indirect, in the said deregistration.

The cost of investment in HACL is USD47,000,000.
