PROPOSED SUBSCRIPTION OF SHARES IN MEKONG TOWER COMPANY LIMITED

We refer to the announcement dated 29 January 2019 in relation to the Proposed Subscription. Unless stated otherwise, the definitions used herein shall have the same meanings as set out in the said announcement.

We are pleased to announce that edotco Labuan, a wholly owned subsidiary of edotco Group Sdn Bhd which in turn is a 63.0% subsidiary of Axiata, has today completed the subscription of 25,600 ordinary shares of LAK500,000 each representing 80.0% of the enlarged issued and paid-up share capital of MTCL at a cash consideration of LAK12,800,000,000 (equivalent to RM6,147,840) resulting with MTCL becoming a subsidiary of Axiata.

The entry into Laos is consistent with edotco’s strategic focus on specific targeted areas of growth markets to ensure expansion of edotco Group’s business. edotco is currently in discussions with local operators for new build-to-suits sites. The entry into Laos marks edotco’s 7th footprint alongside its core markets of Malaysia, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Sri Lanka and Pakistan in which edotco Group operates and manages a regional portfolio of over 29,300 towers with 18,800 towers directly operated by edotco and a further 10,500 towers managed through a range of services provided. edotco intends to bring its state-of-the-art solutions and services to serve the sector in Laos.
