We refer to our announcement dated 17 March 2017 in relation to the strategic review carried out by Axiata Group Berhad (“Axiata” or “the Company”) in respect of its shareholdings in M1 Limited (“Strategic Review”).

Axiata wishes to announce that Keppel Telecommunications & Transportation Ltd, Singapore Press Holdings Limited and the Company (hereinafter collectively referred to as the “Majority Shareholders”) have decided not to proceed further with the Strategic Review. The Majority Shareholders have taken into consideration the proposals from interested parties, which despite a favourable level of interest have not met the minimum criteria and parameters as determined by the Majority Shareholders. For the avoidance of doubt, no arrangement or agreement with any third party has been reached in relation to each Majority Shareholders’ respective shareholdings in M1 Limited.   

Shareholders are advised to exercise caution when dealing in the shares of the Company and to refrain from taking any action in respect of their investments which may be prejudicial to their interests. In the event that shareholders wish to deal in the shares of the Company, they should seek their own professional advice and consult with their own stockbrokers.
