Yap Wai Yip is the Group Financial Controller of Axiata Group Berhad ("Axiata"), a recent appointment since his return from his overseas posting from 1 November, 2016. He was the Chief Financial Officer of Axiata's subsidiary, Robi Axiata Limited (Robi), Bangladesh a position he held from 14 April 2014 until 31 October 2016. Prior to his posting in Robi, he was Group Financial Controller of Axiata, a position he held since joining the Company in October 2008. He has also served as acting CFO of Axiata's Sri Lanka subsidiary, Dialog Axiata PLC in 2010 and acting CFO of Axiata from November 2010 to May 2011. Yap Wai Yip has over 32 years of working experience of which he spent more than 24 years in IT industry and for the last 8 years, in telecommunication. His roles covered Asia Pacific region, especially while in IT industry, covering all ASEAN countries, Greater China region, Korea, Japan, Australia/New Zealand and South Asia countries. He was the recipient of several awards from accounting professional body, regional shared services group and an IBM patent of an IT application.
