Axiata Group Berhad (“Axiata”) wishes to announce that Edotco Urban Infrashare Ltd (“EUIL”), a wholly owned subsidiary of EDOTCO Investments Singapore Pte Ltd which in turn is a wholly owned subsidiary of EDOTCO Investments (Labuan) Limited (“EDOTCO Labuan”) had today appointed Daw Hnin Su Mon (B.Com, C.P.A, D.B.L, ACCA, Member of Myanmar Association of Insolvency Practitioners Inc.), Senior Manager of WIN Consulting Limited as liquidator (“Liquidator”) for the purpose of voluntary liquidation of EUIL (“Voluntary Liquidation”).

EDOTCO Labuan is a wholly owned subsidiary of EDOTCO Group Sdn. Bhd., a 63% subsidiary of Axiata.

Information on EUIL

EUIL was incorporated in Myanmar on 22 July 2020. Its present issued share capital is USD619,000.00 comprising 619,000 ordinary shares of USD1.00 each. The Voluntary Liquidation is due to EUIL, established to provide network facilities services in Myanmar has not commenced operations and remained dormant since its incorporation, and to reduce administration costs.

The Voluntary Liquidation is expected to be completed approximately within 6 months from the date of registration of the Liquidator with The Directorate of Investment and Company Administration, Myanmar.

Financial or Operational Effects

The Voluntary Liquidation will not have any material financial or operational impact to Axiata Group for the financial year ending 31 December 2024.

Directors’ and/or Major Shareholders’ Interest

None of the Directors and/or major shareholders of Axiata and/or persons connected to them have any direct or indirect interest in the Voluntary Liquidation.
